Marina Bay Sands The Shoppes - a great to place to shop and explore beautiful Singapore

Singapore has become a great place to live and visit with new attractions that have come up in recent years. With Marina Bay Sands, the skyline of Singapore is now totally transformed. An iconic hotel with an even more iconic Sands SkyPark Infinity Pool, Marina Bay Sands have become a 'must-stay' hotel for both locals and tourists. For those without the budget to stay at the hotel, exploring The Shoppes is also a fabulous experience.

The way to come to Marina Bay Sands is via Bayfront MRT (yellow or blue lines), once you step out of the gantry, turn left and this begins your shopping experience. With Orchard Road jammed with tourists and locals on a weekend, coming to Marina Bay Sands to shop is almost a relief from the crowds with the spaciousness of the mall. Granted that most of the shops are beyond budget, they are still a beauty to behold with each shop so tastefully made up.

Still there are outlets that are wallet friendly. Several more budget friendly shops have opened outlets at Marina Bay Sands The Shoppes - Charles & Keith (a local Singapore shoe and bag shop), Pedro (classic shoes for men and women), Cath Kidston, Victoria's Secrets fragrances, Bath and Bodyworks, Sephora, ZARA (my absolute favorite because it has the largest and longest outlet here), Nine West, and World of Sports to name a few. Tolietries chain stores Watsons and Guardian have also set up shops here.

Food is relatively affordable with anything starting from $8 and upwards. Most of the cheaper food choices are located at the basement of Marina Bay Sands The Shoppes where you can find the Rasapura Masters food court (I love the char siew noodles!), Toast Box (local coffee or tea with toast set), and Din Tai Fung (dumplings with all sorts of fillings).  If English tea and sandwiches is for you, head down to the Singapore established TWG Tea for a hot cuppa.

If you dare to brave the heat outside, stepping out to have a breather presents you with the most gorgeous view of the Singapore city skyline. It is most romantic in the evening with the city lights twinkling away, perfect for an evening stroll that can take you to MBFC (Marina Bay Financial Center - check out Level 33 a local brewery giving you aerial city views), Fullerton Bay Hotel (stop for nibbles at The Clifford Pier), up the Helix bridge and back. The full walk could take you an hour or so.
