Bintan Lagoon Resort, Bintan

I have been to quite a few resorts in Bintan and I must stay that Bintan Lagoon Resort is an overall winner. I love the spaciousness of the resort's compound that allow me to walk the nature trails within the resort, and to venture out to the private beach of which I can spend a couple hours walking without coming to an end.

The Bintan Lagoon Resort has been around for a while, thus it looks a little worn out. They have recently renovated their rooms and I must say the rooms are as good as new. I would highly recommend booking a seafront deluxe room for those unexpected showers or really hot afternoons that you need to escape into the coolness of the room. And for both occasions you still get to enjoy the serene view of the ocean while sipping a lovely drink or reading a book. The deluxe room is so spacious there is even a double-size tatami when you can sit on and enjoy room service. Food is inexpensive thus being able to have room service is an affordable luxury. 

Bintan Lagoon Guest Room

Enjoy a early morning walk down the nature trail of Bintan Lagoon Resort, it is so relaxing that before heading down to the beach you can feel all your tension just melt away. In the early morning, the beach is freshly washed clean and you can just marvel at the serenity and peacefulness of the gentle waves lapping sand. I love the beach as it so large you can enjoy some privacy by walking further away from the resort. The beach is rather wide as well, allowing kids to run up and down the beach without much supervision.

Bintan Lagoon Resort houses a well equipped gym with both cardio and weight training machines. I must say that the only disadvantage of the gym is the poor ventilation. Massages are about average quality, nothing to rave about in terms of price or technique. They are at least sufficient to get the kinks out of your body. The icky thing about it is have to walk over to the sports complex to have your massage done, which is not the most comfortable stroll. There is a nice little nature trail before hitting the beach, a lovely place to stroll around if you need a little bit of shade.

Spending at least 2 nights at Bintan Lagoon Resort is just sufficient to unwind before getting back to the city. There is a shuttle that brings you to their little town to purchase souvenirs and Indonesian snacks which you probably need no more than 1 hour to cover ground.
