All about Phuket chain hotels at Patong Beach, Phuket, Thailand

I did it! I have stayed in quite a number of chain hotels along Patong Beach, Phuket. My thoughts? It really depends on what you are looking for. I don't know why I keep coming back to Phuket, perhaps because of its proximity to Singapore, with just a couple of hours of flying time you get to enjoy fresh sea breeze and authentic Thai food. The best time to go to Phuket is in December, when it is cool and windy, it is also the most busy period with Europeans flocking here to spend their winter months.

Millenium Resort Patong Phuket
- Most convenient as it is next to Juncelyon Mall where you can shop and eat and have decent massages
- Best spa and lovely guest rooms
- Great pool for laps with a fabulous gym
- No view of the beach, a 20 min walk away
- The hotel is so lovely you just want to stay indoors really

Novotel Phuket Resort
- Best view of the sea (blocks 5,8,9)
- Best activity list for family
- At the end of Patong Beach hence it's quieter and its just down the hill
- Just next to Joe's Downstairs where they have great crab cakes and you get to watch lovely sunsets
- Not accessible with lots of climbing - the plus is a tuk tuk bringing you up and down the property
- Has a shuttle service to Juncelyon

Deevana Plaza Phuket (previously Mecure Patong)
- Cheapest of the lot you can get a room for $100+ a night
- Decent swimming pool though shaded
- 15 min walk to beach, no sea view
- Has a shuttle service to Juncelyon Mall and Central Mall

Dusit D2 Phuket Resort (previously Mariott Courtyard Patong)
- Best breakfast spread and food is probably the best of the hotels I have stayed
- Decent rooms though the bacolony looks to the shaded tiny pool and its really close to the rooms opposite
- 5 min walk to the beach
- No sea view unless you climb to the highest floor
- Has a private section on the beach which is a plus
- Decent gym
- 20 min to Juncelyon mall
